Join us for an unforgettable evening of celebration and connection at the WCUS Social, formerly known as the After Party. This event is the perfect opportunity to unwind, forge new connections, and deepen relationships with fellow attendees. After many insightful sessions, the WCUS Social is where we come together to toast to a successful event and the incredible WordPress community.
We’ll have desserts and non-alcoholic drinks for all attendees at the Social this year. If you are venturing out for dinner before the event, there are a variety of options at the Gaylord but you might also consider going into the city early for additional options!

Traveling from the WordCamp US venue in National Harbor to the Smithsonian is likely to take around 30 minutes via ride-share and there will likely be increased demand on Saturday evening. We encourage you to find a friend (or two) to share a ride.
“The Smithsonian” is home to twenty one museums and the National Zoo. To be clear, this event is at the The Smithsonian Museum of Natural History.
Note: All guests are required to pass through the museum’s security monitoring system as they enter the building at either entrance. Security will do bag checks or hand-wanding if the system alerts them. Prohibited items include weapons, drinks/liquids, illegal substances, etc.

We are fortunate to be able to explore so much of what the Museum has to offer during our social. We’ll be granted access to fascinating exhibits, available to all WCUS Social attendees. Here’s a glimpse of what awaits you:
- Rotunda: Marvel at the stunning interior design of this 4-story space and immerse yourself in the grandeur of the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, complete with Henry, the African Bush elephant.
- Ocean Hall: Dive into the depths of marine life as you discover captivating displays featuring vibrant sea creatures and mesmerizing underwater habitats.
- Mammal Hall: Encounter lifelike representations of diverse mammals from around the world and throughout time. Learn about their unique characteristics and habitats with exhibits you can see, touch, and hear.
- Fossil Hall: Step back in time and explore the ancient world of dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures through remarkable fossil exhibits.
- Hall of Geology: Unearth the wonders of our planet as you delve into the mesmerizing world of rocks, minerals, and geological formations. And of course, experience the shimmering collection of emeralds, diamonds, rubies and other gemstones.
