WordPress Phoenix is one heck of a community. This community hosts four meetups per month with a rough average of 30 attendees at each meetup. Each meetup has at least two dedicated organizers with all of us supporting each other’s meetup as needed. Every month great content is curated and given to our attendees. We host a guest speaker at each event (sometimes virtually) and go out of our way to make all feel welcome and included. Networking is part of every meetup and some host a “help-hour”. One of my favorite parts is our unofficial after-hangs at a nearby restaurant. All are invited to simply hang and get to know each other. This is where relationships are built. This is where trust begins. This is where community building happens. Often I see that magical moment of someone catching the contagion. The community contagion.
We’re incredibly blessed to share a hometown with several big companies in Phoenix. Thankfully these companies have given so much to our WordPress community.
