A: WordCamp is a conference that focuses on everything WordPress. WordCamps are informal, community-organized events that are put together by WordPress users like you. Everyone from casual users to core developers participate, share ideas, and get to know each other.

Q: WHEN WAS THE FIRST WORDCAMP?

A: The first WordCamp was in 2006 in San Francisco. It was organized by Matt Mullenweg. There were about 500 in attendance.

Q: WHEN WAS THE FIRST WORDCAMP US?

A: The first WordCamp known as WordCamp US was in 2015 in Philadelphia, PA. However, the first WordCamp for North America was WordCamp San Francisco in 2006.
