Announcing the first four speakers for WCUS 2021 Online!

Bet Hannon

Bet has worked with businesses and nonprofits for over 14 years, helping them build WordPress websites, integrate other communication channels, and learn how to use digital marketing tools more effectively. She is the founder & CEO of BH Business Websites, an agency that designs, builds and maintains accessible sites, including membership and ecommerce sites. Bet lives in Bend, Oregon, and is a co-organizer of the WP Meetup there.

Lax Mariappan

Lax is a web developer, Open Source enthusiast, and lover of all things WordPress. Lax has been tinkering with websites since high school but it all changed when he discovered WordPress in 2010. When unplugged, he reads a lot and enjoys traveling around the Philippines.

Helen Hou-Sandi

Helen is the Director of Open Source Initiatives at 10up and a Lead Developer for the WordPress open source software project, now powering more than 40% of the web. From her start as a PHP/MySQL applications developer to focusing on “the front-end of the back-end” from both the development and UX perspectives, she has a knack for figuring out what people need to get things done on their websites, including most recently on the relaunch of WhiteHouse.gov for the Biden-Harris Administration. Although she never knows whether to tell people she’s a New Yorker or from Virginia Beach, today Helen is based in San José, Costa Rica with her husband, two kids, and their very close-knit extended family. When not at the computer or hanging out with said family, she can be found at the piano or posting pictures of food she’s making.

Rich Tabor

Rich is the Senior Product Manager of WordPress Experience at GoDaddy, having previously founded CoBlocks and ThemeBeans. He is ecstatic about the future of WordPress and how we’re on the forefront of democratizing publishing at a whole new level with Gutenberg and Full Site Editing.
