Talk WordPress & AI at the Core AI Prompt Bar

The Core AI Prompt Bar is coming to WordCamp US 2026, and we’d love for you to stop by.

The Prompt Bar is an open, collaborative space where you can connect with the contributors helping shape AI in WordPress. Whether you’re building with AI, exploring new possibilities, curious about where WordPress is headed with AI, or still figuring out what AI means for you, you’re invited to join the conversation.

Who runs the prompt bar?

The booth is an initiative of the WordPress Core AI Team, the working group tasked with bringing AI functionality to WordPress.

Currently, the team maintains:

  • Abilities API — lets a WordPress site describe what it can do in a central, discoverable registry.
  • MCP Adapter — connects those abilities to outside AI tools over the Model Context Protocol.
  • PHP AI Client — a framework and provider-agnostic PHP SDK for talking to AI models.
  • WP AI Client — the client with WordPress for communicating with any AI model.
  • AI plugin — brings AI-powered features directly into your WordPress admin and editing experience.
  • WP Bench — benchmarks how well AI models handle WordPress-specific tasks.

The Core AI Prompt Bar will be staffed by team members, contributors and volunteers. If you’re a Core AI contributor, please consider volunteering a shift at the booth, it’s a great and rewarding way to spend a few hours at this year’s WCUS.

What can I expect?

The Prompt Bar is a place to pull up a chair, talk WordPress and AI with the people building it, and leave with more than you came with, whether that’s an answer, an idea, or just a better sense of what’s coming.

Some topics are bigger than a booth chat, and that’s okay too! We can point you in the right direction, connect you with the right person, or point you to where the project lives if what you need is more involved than a quick conversation.

What should I bring?

Your questions, at any level.
Are you deep in the weeds on the Abilities API, or just wondering what “AI in WordPress” even means for your site? Both are exactly what we’re there for. You don’t need a developed opinion or a technical question to walk up, curiosity is enough.

Your feedback, good or bad.
If something about AI in WordPress has delighted you, frustrated you, confused you, or just not worked the way you expected, we want to hear it. The team’s roadmap is shaped by conversations like these.

Your projects, products, or tools.
Hearing how people are actually using, or trying to use, AI in their WordPress projects is genuinely our favorite part. It also helps us give you a better answer, so tell us what you’re working on, even if it’s half-finished.

What it’s not.

The Prompt Bar is not a technical support desk, that’s what the Happiness Bar is for. It’s not a stage, and there’s no talk to sit through.

Where to find us at WCUS.

The Core AI Prompt Bar’s booth will be active Tuesday, August 18th and Wednesday, August 19th, between 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

We can’t wait to meet you there!
