Rob Ruiz

Rob Ruiz is a Senior Full Stack Engineer and the Lead Maintainer of WP Rig, the open-source modern theme development framework. With nearly two decades of experience in the web industry, Rob specializes in architecting high-performance WordPress systems that bridge the gap between advanced technical architecture and intuitive user experience. His extensive experience as a lead developer on teams at several startups, agencies, and popular SaaS companies, or as a freelancer, focuses on custom plugin and theme engineering and the evolution of agentic workflows. A long-time community advocate, Rob has served as a Lead Organizer for WordCamp Omaha and the leader of the Omaha WordPress Meetup. He is dedicated to standardizing best practices for the next generation of WordPress developers. When he isn’t contributing to WP Rig or building bespoke WordPress solutions, you can find him performing as a scratch turntablist or producing jazz/hip-hop fusion music under the moniker RCon.
