Hailing from Western New York, Nicholas (@eidolonnight) brings more than twenty years of experience with open source. He discovered WordPress in 2004 as editor for the school paper, earned a degree in computer science and English, and then built a web agency that shipped hundreds of sites before moving into marketing. He joined Automattic in 2019, where he works to promote the WordPress project.

A longtime contributor, Nicholas has spent the last several years helping organize and market the project’s flagship events, including WordCamp Asia, Europe, US, and State of the Word. A systems thinker at heart, he favors processes and documentation built to outlast any single contributor.
