Organizers are the magicians behind the scenes who make WordCamp US happen – and we need you! If you are passionate about WordPress, WordCamps, or events, help us make WCUS 2026 a success.
Who can apply?
Following last year’s approach, we have removed all location and experience requirements! We are looking to welcome new faces into the fold that will bring a variety of skills to the organizing team. We expect organizers to:
- Have some overlap with time zones in the Americas in order to coordinate with your squad.
- Commit to adhering to our Code of Conduct and treat one another fairly and respectfully.
- Have a WordPress.org profile (if you don’t, you can follow these steps).
- Understand and commit to the WordCamp Organizer, Speaker, Sponsor and Volunteer agreement.
What kind of commitment is required?
You will be expected to:
- Manage tasks specific to your squad. Each squad requires a different level of involvement but we expect 4-5 hours per week at peak times, with the commitment increasing to 10 hours per week closer to the event.
- Participate in weekly or bi-weekly squad planning sessions.
- Attend WCUS in-person from August 16-19, 2026 (some folks will be needed on August 15th).
How to apply?
- Review the squad descriptions, and identify where your skills would best be applied.
- Fill out the application form.
Next Steps
The call for organizers will close on April 3, 2026. The team will then review applications and notify those who have been selected as organizers.
