Ohia is a UI/UX Architect and designer-developer hybrid who’s been crafting thoughtful, human-centered digital experiences for over 15 years. Based in beautiful Granada, Spain, she combines a background in design and illustration with a self-taught love for code. Her work is rooted in empathy, playfulness, and structure, which she refers to as “well-organized whimsy.” She’s deeply involved in the WordPress community, contributing to community, design, and photo teams, speaking at WordCamps, and helping organize them too.
She co-led the Design Team for WCEU 2025 and was a member of the Community and Web Teams in 2024. She also created the much-loved WAPUU mascot “WAthena” for WCEU 2023. WCUS will be her 2nd flagship as an organizer this year. At WordCamp Granada 2024, she led design and web, including the creation of a logo that weaves together local landscapes and Alhambra-inspired tiles, and a charming Fajalauza-patterned Wapuu named “Wajee.”
Professionally, Ohia is a key member of the Liquid Spark team, a marketing agency specializing in adventure travel and outdoor recreation. In her role, she brings her UX/UI expertise to help clients create engaging and effective digital experiences. When she’s not pixel-pushing or whipping up marketing assets, you might find her teaching English, supporting NGO work, organizing for social and environmental justice, hiking in the Sierra Nevada, sipping coffee, or just chilling at the cemetery. She loves good color palettes, clear margins, and deep conversations.
