{"id":9681,"date":"2022-08-26T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-08-26T15:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/us.wordcamp.org\/2022\/?p=9681"},"modified":"2022-08-30T11:10:42","modified_gmt":"2022-08-30T18:10:42","slug":"wcus-what-you-need-to-know","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/us.wordcamp.org\/2022\/wcus-what-you-need-to-know\/","title":{"rendered":"WordCamp US 2022: What You Need to Know"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>WordCamp US takes place this year in San Diego, California, September 9th through the 11th.&nbsp;Tickets are <a href=\"https:\/\/us.wordcamp.org\/2022\/tickets\/\"><em>sold out<\/em><\/a>, however, all sessions will be <a href=\"https:\/\/us.wordcamp.org\/2022\/livestream\/\">streamed live<\/a>, free of charge with no registration required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether you\u2019re attending in-person or virtually, here\u2019s what you need to know!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-x-large-font-size wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-transform:uppercase\">In-Person Attendees<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>WordCamp US 2022 takes place at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.towncountry.com\/\">Town &amp; Country Resort<\/a> in San Diego, California September 9th through the 11th.&nbsp;Sessions, the expo floor, and Contributor Day will all take place within the resort\u2019s own convention center on the west side of the property (view <a href=\"https:\/\/www.towncountry.com\/escape\/hotel-map\">resort map<\/a>).&nbsp;If you\u2019re staying on property, a reduced room rate <a href=\"https:\/\/us.wordcamp.org\/2022\/wordcamp-us-hotel-block\/\">is available<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All attendees will be required to provide proof of <a href=\"https:\/\/us.wordcamp.org\/2022\/covid-19-guidelines\/\">COVID-19 vaccination<\/a> or proof of a negative test taken no more than 24 hours before the event.&nbsp;On-site testing will also be available.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\" style=\"border-top-style:none;border-top-width:0px;border-right-style:none;border-right-width:0px;border-bottom-color:var(--wp--preset--color--custom-wcus-yellow);border-bottom-width:3px;border-left-color:var(--wp--preset--color--custom-wcus-yellow);border-left-width:3px;padding-top:4px;padding-right:3rem;padding-bottom:1.33rem;padding-left:1rem\">\n<p class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color\" style=\"font-size:24px;line-height:1.4\">Masks worn over the mouth and nose are <i>required<\/i> for all indoor events and are <i>encouraged<\/i> for all other activities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two <a href=\"https:\/\/us.wordcamp.org\/2022\/schedule\/\">programming tracks<\/a> and a third track of hands-on workshops Friday and Saturday.&nbsp;Sunday is dedicated to <a href=\"https:\/\/us.wordcamp.org\/2022\/contributor-day\/\">Contributor Day<\/a> where WordPress users of all backgrounds join together to make WordPress better &#8211; no previous experience is required!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/us.wordcamp.org\/2022\/official-parties\/\"><strong>WCUS Social<\/strong><\/a>, the official party of WordCamp US 2022, takes place Saturday evening from 7:00 pm &#8211; 9:00 pm.&nbsp;The event will be held outside in Riverfront Park at Town and Country Resort, just a short walk from the venue. If you\u2019re registered for WordCamp US, you\u2019re already registered for the WCUS Social &#8211; just show up with your badge!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our <a href=\"https:\/\/us.wordcamp.org\/2022\/covid-19-guidelines\/\">COVID-19 Policy<\/a> has been updated.<\/strong> The steps for signing up for the VOW system have been published. Learn more about <a href=\"https:\/\/us.wordcamp.org\/2022\/using-the-vow-digital-health-system\/\">using the VOW Digital Health system<\/a> and then create your account now! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019ve registered to join us in San Diego, keep an eye on your email for more details regarding lunch, parking, and more as we get closer to the event!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-x-large-font-size wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-transform:uppercase\">Virtual Attendees<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Virtual attendees have full access to all speaker presentations <em>live <\/em>as they happen during WordCamp US.&nbsp;If you\u2019re attending virtually, there\u2019s no need to register in advance and access is <em>free<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/us.wordcamp.org\/2022\/schedule\/\">schedule<\/a> and hop over to the <a href=\"https:\/\/us.wordcamp.org\/2022\/livestream\/\">live streams<\/a> during the event.&nbsp; It\u2019s the next best thing to being there!&nbsp;Be sure to follow <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WordCampUS\/\">@WordCampUS<\/a> on Twitter for live tweets of the highlights!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While you may not be able to participate in <a href=\"https:\/\/us.wordcamp.org\/2022\/contributor-day\/\">Contributor Day<\/a> in person, some teams are meeting online.
