Can you believe WordCamp US 2022 is in one week? You’ve made your airline and hotel reservations, got your event ticket, and decided which sessions to attend<\/a>. You’ve got your sunblock, sandals, and water bottle to stay hydrated. And you’ve thought about what you want to do for Contributor Day<\/a>. You’re all set for San Diego!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All that’s left is letting everyone know that you’ll be there! A common trend when attending a conference is to update your Twitter account’s display name to include a note about where you are. I changed mine to “Joe A Simpson Jr – #WCUS<\/a>“, but feel free to do your own thing. You get 50 characters to work with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a good reason for this. When someone searches for “WCUS” on Twitter (like this screenshot to the right), they’ll find your name. This will help your friends know that you are actually out there somewhere in the sea of people at WCUS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visit your Twitter profile and follow these step-by-step directions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Click on the “Edit profile” button to the right.<\/strong><\/li>
  2. Amend #WCUS to your name.<\/strong><\/li>
  3. Click on the “Save” button.<\/strong><\/li>
  4. Tell all of your friends!<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
