This year we are shaking things up! Our WordCamp party, now officially called WordFest will be held 7:00pm Friday, November 1, 2019, at City Museum in St. Louis. We have changed the name from After Party to WordFest as the event does not need to necessarily be held at the end of the WordCamp.
Less than a mile away from America’s Center Convention Complex, where our programming will take place, City Museum will be fun for all ages of WordCampers. WordCamp US will have the whole venue to ourselves to network, relax, and have loads of fun. City Museum is a world-renowned interactive place of wonder. WordCampers will enjoy snacks, drinks, a 10-STORY SLIDE, beautiful mosaics, and even a giant praying mantis. If that does not interest you, there is also a rooftop Ferris wheel that you can ride with that new friend you made during the hallway track.
City Museum was originally a 100-year-old shoe company warehouse in downtown St. Louis. Since then, an amazing group of artists has repurposed the pieces of old cities to build miles of tunnels, slides, climbers, bridges, and castles both inside and outside the building. There are secret passages and grand galleries. There are five full floors of larger-than-life interactive activities that will keep you busy the entire night. Do not fret though, there will be a number of areas to sit, chat, and reflect on your first day of WCUS.
What to expect at City Museum.
- Attendees should wear sneakers or closed-toe, closed-heel shoes.
- They recommend that you wear full-length pants or jeans.
- The venue is accessible, but there are some areas (such as the caves) that may be difficult to maneuver.
- They do have a bag & coat check that can watch your things as you explore.
- For those who will have cars, City Museum lot parking is $10.
- There are some areas with height restrictions. Those can be found here.
You don’t want to miss out on this amazing, annual event! We will be having speakers, workshops, childcare, an incredible sponsor hall and more. Get your tickets to WordCamp US today! If you need a hotel, we also have a hotel block at the Marriott that is across the street from the venue. Rooms are limited, reserve today.
This is a very good plan.
