WordCamp US is committed to the accessibility and inclusivity of our event.

In order to assure that we have time to arrange for any assistance you might need, please contact us no later than October 25, 2019 to let us know your needs, and how we might be able to best assist you.
The Venue
America’s Center is a wheelchair accessible conference center. There will be activities on the first and second floors, and there are elevators and escalators. All session rooms can be accessed with no steps. There are accessible restrooms. We are looking into how we can best provide gender neutral restrooms, and we will update when we have specific information on their locations.

Sessions
The sessions will have lecture-style (row) seating, with open spaces for wheelchairs, and priority seating up front for folks who need it. The sessions will have Real Time Captioning, with captions projected along with slides on two screens in each room.
Doors will be closed during sessions, but you are free to come and go as you need. There will be volunteers to help open/close doors if you need help.
If you need ASL interpreters or a sighted guide, let us know when buying your ticket so we can make arrangements. We are happy to assist, but please note that it takes several days to hire a licensed and professional person. Please submit requests no later than a week before the event.
Quiet Space
If you need a break from the bustle of WordCamp, we will have a space for you. This room will be set aside from the rest of the session rooms, and will be available for anyone who needs to take a break. Please do not use this space for conversations or phone calls, and avoid eating or spraying perfume.
Nursing room
There will be a room for anyone who needs a private space for breastfeeding or pumping.
Childcare
Our childcare services are free. Please note the procedure for the safety of your children.
We are also offering a KidsCamp on Sunday where kids learn to build their own WordPress website.
Life Essentials Boxes
Our life essentials boxes are located in all bathrooms. They contain sanitary products and are available for anyone to use. Please let an organizer or volunteer know if you need anything or if it needs to be refilled.
Code of Conduct
We take our Code of Conduct seriously. We value our community. We are dedicated to having a safe and inclusive environment where all attendees are respected.
The Food
We do provide lunch and two snack breaks both days of the conference. When we’re closer to the event, we’ll put up the menus. If you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, please let us know when buying your ticket. Water is available at various stations throughout the event. Check out our menu page for details.
Hotels
We have a hotel block (first come first served) at The Marriott Grand. It is directly across the street from the convention center. You can visit the hotel website for their accessibility information.
Visa Services
The WordCamp US organizing team can provide you with a letter for your visa application. We do not send the letter to your embassy. You will need to print a copy of the letter and attach it to your visa application. The letter is not an invitation. The letter will state the following:
- That you are attending the event
- The dates of the conference
- The purpose of the conference
As of 10/22/19 our visa services have closed.
