Jacksonville at a glance
- 1st WPJax Group – Presentations and connections on topics for both users and devs
- WPJax Kids – STEM/STEAM projects and WordPress.com blogs for kids 7-14 years
- WordPress Tidbits – Luncheon and networking time with short lightening presentations
The Jacksonville community has steadily grown over time, with a fun mix of users, business owners, devs and WordPress professionals. It’s a friendly place complete with pizza, to meet others, ask questions, and learn all things WordPress.
One of the most popular events is our quarterly Open Lab night. It’s a huge hit! People show up with their laptops for our own version of a WPJax Happiness Bar – connecting and collaborating for hours.
We also have a great response to our informal luncheons, where we network, share, and grab lunch once a month.
Our latest group, WPJax Kids, is both creative and fun for the future WordPress lovers! The kids meet during our main monthly meetup and do STEM/STEAM projects, learning about the web and blogging while also growing their very own blog on wordpress.com. Finding their voice and passions is a huge part of what makes WPJax Kids special.
Our local WordCamp Jacksonville is now preparing to celebrate our 5th year and has a strong team of organizers making it happen. Each year so far we’ve highlighted our own local history and strengths here in Northeast Florida. We’ve seen growth each year as well as a loyal group of return attendees. All in all, WordPress love is alive and well in Jacksonville!
