Bonjour! The WordPress Montreal community is a vibrant group of WordPress enthusiasts that love getting together to learn, share, and encourage each other. We host meetups once a month throughout the year and hold our annual WordCamp in the summer. Our group is bilingual, which means our communication, meetups, and WordCamp talks are given in English and French. We welcome all WordPress users, from bloggers to advanced developers. Not only are we peers, we’re also friends, mentors, and teachers. Some have even met their future business partners!
Community Spotlight: Jackson
Every first Tuesday we hold an informal meetup that is either an open help session or a show and tell. Every third Tuesday we do a formal presentation on a new topic or series of topics featuring speakers from the area.Keep Reading Y’all
We meet at the downtown Jackson District Library in the auditorium.

Our primary (and most well-attended) monthly meetup is our Developer’s Breakfast. This meeting is targeted towards WordPress developers at varying levels of proficiency. In addition to making delicious pancakes, we discuss news, updates, and best-practices for WordPress in general, and we also open the floor to allow members to “show and tell” different tools or features they’ve picked up on. Community Spotlight: Atlanta
Active, vibrant, collaborative, warm, welcoming, friendly, strong ties to the global community, the epitome of Southern hospitality.
We are unique in that Meetup attendance is spread across a large metropolitan area among six individual groups, yet we are one Community. The Meetup organizers are friends who work together to foster a learn-do-teach approach in all or our events. Keep Reading Y’all

“Our community has gone through it’s ups and downs growing and shrinking. Since our first WordCamp in 2016 we have grown the number of regular members significantly. We are building friendships and business relationships. We work to make each other better and welcome any new face.” Keep Reading Y’all
Community Spotlight: New York, NY
Our Meetup topics are divided into three categories. Between 2016 and 2017 we’ve hosted 3 Meetups a month for three respective topics. We recently added a fourth Meetup mid-2017. We have Meetup topics for self-hosted WordPress users and developers of themes and plugins (organized by Steve Bruner), WordPress.com users who are often beginners to WordPress or content creators (organized by Winstina Hughes), and a WordPress Help Desk where members can ask questions, seek solutions to pressing challenges and share expertise (organized by Scott Becker). “We are a small group that meets outside of Washington, DC. Being small gives us a chance to get to know new people and make them feel welcome. We usually have dinner and drinks and spend most of the time talking about what we do, in addition to having a featured speaker.”

Community Spotlight: Women Who WP
“Our group brings together women (and men) who blog, design, develop, and market in the WordPress community. Meetings begin with introductions and a 30 minute pre-determined discussion on a WordPress topic the 3rd Wednesday of each month. We learn over dinner and then everyone takes 2 minutes to share something they’ve learned in WordPress that month.
Since we organized we’ve seen many WordPressers in our local community get involved and develop confidence in their skills and themselves. We’ve witnessed many of our members submit as speakers for the first time and encouraged others to begin their own local WomenWhoWP Meetups (worldwide). Friendships have developed and mentorship has naturally evolved. It’s amazing to be a part of such an inspiring group!”

Community Spotlight: Washington DC
We have 100+ people at the WordPress DC Meetup every month. It’s a great mix of people, with everybody from WordPress newbies to Automattic employees! Developers, marketers, designers and WP enthusiasts make up the community that led to WordCamp DC 2017 being the second largest first-time WordCamp in a city ever (only behind WordCamp San Francisco, the precursor to WordCamp U.S.). Woohoo!
