In 2010, Jeff Turner and I were looking for local developers to outsource work.
We realized we didn’t know any so we started the Meetup. The idea was to form a community of WordPress devs that could take on the projects we couldn’t handle. Keep Reading Y’all
Wapuu, like WordPress, is a canvas for creation. But unlike WordPress, all it takes to leverage the magic of Wapuu is an idea and passion!

Our community actually spans 2 states! Many of our meetup and WordCamp attendees come from Illinois. As far as the people go, they’re pretty awesome! We have attendees as young as 9 and as old as 80s. Our community has people from all walks of life, from small business owners, to political activists, to freelancers.
