The Holiday Market is mere steps away from the Village, around the side of City Hall. (More info on the Village is available <a href=\"http:\/\/www.philachristmas.com\/\">here<\/a>.)<\/li>\n<li><b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ccdparks.org\/dilworth-park\/rothmanicerink\">The Rothman Center Ice Rink at Dilworth Plaza<\/a><\/b> While you&#8217;re in Dilworth Plaza, why not strap on some ice skates and take a turn around the rink?<\/li>\n<li><b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.visitphilly.com\/events\/philadelphia\/holiday-light-show-at-macys-center-city\/#sm.0000zpidbx6yud6yyf71slgob5oyz\">The Macy&#8217;s Holiday Light Show at Macy&#8217;s Center City<\/a><\/b> Lights and the famous Wanamaker organ make this an annual tradition worth checking out.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.business-services.upenn.edu\/arboretum\/gardens_railway.shtml\">The Holiday Garden Railway at Morris Arboretum<\/a>\u00a0 A wonderful outdoor miniature railway display in the midst of the beautiful Morris Arboretum.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.visitphilly.com\/events\/philadelphia\/blue-cross-riverrink\/#sm.0000zpidbx6yud6yyf71slgob5oyz\">Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest<\/a>\u00a0A whole lot bigger rink than Dilworth Plaza and right next to the Delaware River, with beautiful views of the river and bridges.<\/li>\n<li><em><a href=\"http:\/\/historicphiladelphia.org\/franklin-square\/upcoming-events\/\">Franklin Square Holiday Festival<\/a><\/em>\u00a0Holiday lights, a carousel, and Square Burger &#8212; who could ask for anything more?<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.visitphilly.com\/museums-attractions\/philadelphia\/the-comcast-holiday-spectacular\/\">The Comcast Holiday Spectacular<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>Dancers from the Pennsylvania Ballet, music, and a positively GIANT video screen, with displays on the hour, every hour, from 10am to 8pm.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/longwoodgardens.org\/events-and-performances\/events\/longwood-christmas\">A Longwood Christmas<\/a>\u00a0Longwood Gardens is a bit of a hike by car, but its beautiful gardens, decorated for the holidays and world-class pipe organ are not to be missed.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/philaparkandrec.tumblr.com\/post\/153018036679\/15-reasons-you-need-to-visit-the-historic-houses\">&#8220;A Very Philly Christmas&#8221; in Fairmount Park<\/a>\u00a0Fairmount Park is home to some AMAZING historic homes. These homes are decorated in a classic fashion for Christmas and are a sight to behold. (If robots are more your speed, then <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fi.edu\/exhibit\/robot-revolution\">they&#8217;ve got you covered there<\/a>, too.)<\/li>\n<li><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.barnesfoundation.org\/visit\/philadelphia\/free-first-sundays\">Free First Sundays at the Barnes Foundation<\/a><\/em>\u00a0An unparalleled curated collection of artistic masterpieces, from Renoir, C\u00e9zanne, Picasso, and more makes the Barnes a can&#8217;t-miss for art appreciators.<\/li>\n<li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chemheritage.org\/museum\/on-view\">Chemical Heritage Foundation<\/a><\/em>\u00a0The CHF museum features a mix of science, technology and art.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pafa.org\">Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art (PAFA)<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>Located\u00a0<em>directly<\/em> across from the Convention Center on Broad Street, PAFA features a wonderful collection of classic, modern, and in-between artwork. The museum is also featuring a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pafa.org\/exhibitions\/world-war-i-and-american-art\">collection of World War I art<\/a> which is free to view on Sundays.<\/li>\n<li><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.philamuseum.org\/\">Philadelphia Museum of Art<\/a><\/em>\u00a0This museum is more than just the &#8220;Rocky Steps&#8221; &#8212; it features many collections (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.philamuseum.org\/collections\/browse.html?sort=Artist&amp;packID=2085\">arms and armor<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.philamuseum.org\/collections\/browse.html?sort=Accession+Number&amp;packID=2251\">landscapes, furniture, and silver work<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.philamuseum.org\/collections\/browse.html?sort=Artist&amp;packID=2089\">paintings and sculpture<\/a>, and more) and is a wonderful stroll up the Avenue of the Arts. Don&#8217;t miss the current exhibit on Mexican Modernism.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.visitphilly.com\/museums-attractions\/philadelphia\/the-fabric-workshop-and-museum\/\">The Fabric Workshop and Museum<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>Located just across Arch Street from the Convention Center, this unique museum features artists working in media perhaps beyond their usual methods (for instance, did you know Roy Lichtenstein <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fabricworkshopandmuseum.org\/Collections\/CollectionDetail.aspx?CollectionId=e44a9a45-b668-47b7-944a-c5c079d53fdf\">designed a shirt<\/a>?).<\/li>\n<li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.muralarts.org\/\">Philadelphia\u00a0Mural Arts<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>Not a museum, per se, but Philadelphia&#8217;s vibrant public mural program has blessed many neighborhoods with vibrant, even breathtaking murals, many of which span entire faces of their host buildings.
