Time really does fly! It seems like just yesterday that we announced WordCamp US and now we’re just days away. The final details have fallen into place and we’ve reached that time when we need to make sure that all of you have the information you need to make the most of your time with us at WordCamp US.<\/p>\n
Early Registrations<\/strong><\/p>\n If you arrive a little early, you can pick up your WordCamp US badge in the lobby at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown on Thursday<\/strong>, December 3<\/strong> from 2:30-6:00 pm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown<\/strong> The first two days of WordCamp US \u2013 Dec. 4 and Dec. 5<\/strong> \u2013 take place of the Philadelphia Convention Center.<\/p>\n Philadelphia Convention Center<\/strong> The first two days of WordCamp US are sessions, sessions, sessions!<\/p>\n Doors open for attendees at 8:00 am on both days<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Opening remarks kick off promptly at 9:00 am on Friday<\/strong> in the upstairs ballroom, followed by sessions in Kite & Key<\/em>, Liberty Bell<\/em>, and Independence<\/em> on the first floor. Sessions begin Saturday morning at 9:00 am<\/strong> and the event concludes Saturday afternoon upstairs with Matt Mullenweg\u2019s State of the Word<\/em>. Lunch will be served upstairs. And yes, there will be BBQ.<\/p>\n Bonus:<\/strong> Come early on Friday for Yoga for Desk Jockeys<\/em> in the Kite & Key<\/em> room at 8:15 am<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Get on line:<\/strong> The network name (SSID) is WordCampUS<\/strong> and the password is opensource<\/strong><\/p>\n On foot:<\/strong> If you\u2019re staying at Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown, the Pennsylvania Convention Center is a short walk away: https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/mPTkLQq7xx12<\/a><\/p>\n Via subway:<\/strong> Whether you\u2019re on the Blue Line (Market-Frankford) or the Orange Line (Broad Street), get off at the City Hall station.<\/p>\n Taxis and ride services:<\/strong>\u00a0Philly has plenty of Taxis and there\u2019s Uber and Lyft if you want to request a ride from your phone.<\/p>\n By car:<\/strong> If you\u2019re driving to WordCamp US you can find directions and parking info here:<\/p>\n http:\/\/www.paconvention.com\/explore-philadelphia\/directions-and-parking\/Pages\/directions-and-parking.aspx<\/a><\/p>\n We recommend the Convention Center Parking Co. at 142 N. Broad.<\/em><\/p>\n Saturday evening after the event we’ll hold the WordCamp US After-Party at Lucky Strike<\/strong> for bowling, ping pong, billiards, games, rock band, a photo booth, and more. Appetizers plus beer, wine, and cider will be provided.<\/p>\n We’ll have two floors with the lower floor set aside as a quieter space for those who don’t want to deal with loud music. You must be an attendee of WordCamp US to attend so bring your badge<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Lucky Strike<\/strong> For Contributor Day, we’re back at the Pennsylvania Convention Center<\/strong> for the last day of WordCamp US. Doors open at 9:00 am<\/strong>, opening remarks are at 10:00 am<\/strong> and the event goes through 5:00 pm.
